Kenneth D. Denman, 60, is a venture partner at Sway Ventures. He was the chief executive officer and president of Emotient, Inc., from October 2012 to January 2016. He also served as the chief executive officer of Great Elm Capital Group, Inc., (alternately Openwave Systems Inc.) from November 2008 to September 2011 and as a director from April 2004 to September 2011.
Denman served as the chief executive officer and president of iPass, Inc., from October 2001 to November 2008, as a director from 2001 to 2008, and as chairman from 2003 to 2008. He has been a director of Mitek Systems, Inc., since December 2016.
Previously, Denman served as a director of the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) from January 2011 to January 2012, and as a director of United Online, Inc., from June 2015 to July 2016.
Denman was appointed to the Edward V. Fritzky Endowed Visiting Chair in Leadership at the University of Washington’s Michael G. Foster School of Business in September 2012, is a member of the advisory board at the University of Washington’s Michael G. Foster School of Business, and sits on the board of directors at the University of Washington Foundation. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Central Washington University and MBA in finance and international business from the University of Washington.
