Motorola Solutions to Add 400 Workers in Chicago

CHICAGO – Motorola Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: MSI), a leading provider of mission-critical communication products and services for government and enterprise customers, today announced that it will add 400 workers in Chicago during the next 18 months.

Motorola Solutions has a strong presence in the Chicago area with about 5,000 people at its headquarters campus in nearby Schaumburg, Ill. The decision to add 400 more workers reflects the company’s longstanding commitment to the Chicago community and its desire to support future growth in its business.

"The Chicago area has been our home for more than 80 years and we are pleased to announce that we will bring more jobs to the city,” said Greg Brown, chairman and CEO of Motorola Solutions. “We believe Chicago is a world-class location known for its close partnerships with the business community.”

“I promised that I would work tirelessly to create a business climate that makes Chicago the most economically competitive city in the nation,” said Mayor Rahm Emanuel. “I commend Motorola Solutions for expanding its investment here and for bringing these high-quality jobs to the people of Chicago.”

The 400 workers will consist of skilled positions to support customer-facing operations including services, sales support and system integration, and the company expects to have them filled by the end of 2012.
