“The Mobile Mind Shift: Engineer Your Business to Win in the Mobile Moment”

In its new book, “The Mobile Mind Shift: Engineer Your Business to Win in the Mobile Moment,” Forrester Research explores how businesses can refocus their strategies, systems and people to deliver mobile engagement and win in the mobile moment. The book also describes how specialized communication and wearable devices, such as those featured on Motorola Solutions’ connected law enforcement officer, can enhance care or detect emergencies to improve decision-making.

With sensors, status and location information, Motorola’s next generation communications and wearables will help protect first responders in dangerous situations by automatically indicating when help may be needed. By leveraging body sensors, videos and alarms, they will be able to automatically convey critical information to dispatchers. For example, biophysical sensors will indicate if a first responder is under duress and holster sensors will monitor if a gun, pepper spray or handcuffs are pulled and returned. A wearable camera on a police officer will immediately record an oncoming suspect’s image at the time of the event. Enhanced situational awareness through immediate information sharing will be key to increasing first responder efficiency, effectiveness and above all, safety.
