The Soldier of the Future will be at the LAAD Exhibition

Motorola Solutions demonstrates the concept of Mobile Intelligence

  • With mobile intelligence, public safety forces improve their response and efficiency levels thanks to real-time access to critical data, applications and secure mobile communications.
  • The Soldier of the Future will wear the most advanced public safety technologies, including a tactical solution, which creates a 4G Public Safety-Long Term Evolution (PS-LTE) "bubble" anywhere in the world to share multimedia data.
  •  As part of the concept of mobile intelligence, Motorola Solutions will also introduce cameras mounted on a moving drone and a sniper rifle that send real-time images to the command and control center.
RIO DE JANEIRO, April 3, 2017 – Motorola Solutions Inc. (NYSE:MSI) presents at LAAD (International Exhibition for Defense, Public and Corporate Security) the concept of Mobile Intelligence, which will revolutionize the tactical actions of security forces and assistance and emergency teams around the world.

At the company's booth, a 4G PS-LTE "bubble" (defined area of coverage) will be generated by using portable solution incorporated into the officer's backpack, to create a network that is fully autonomous and independent from common cellular networks. This solution brings together different technologies, providing greater situational awareness to security forces worldwide.  In other words, it places critical information from the command center in the hands of the field officers, using devices that act as the commanders' eyes and ears.

As an example of an integrated solution to the 4G PS-LTE network, visitors will be able to see demonstrations of cameras mounted on a mobile drone and on the sniper rifle sight transmitting images, in real time, to a simulated control center using the CommandCentral intelligence platform.

Likewise, the LEX L10 — a mission critical LTE handheld device for public safety — and the Si500 Video Speaker Microphone — a 3:1 body camera, high-quality RSM and touch screen interface — complete the concept of Mobile Intelligence with video recording, image capture and integrated communications.  Smartphone applications specially designed for public safety will also be introduced at the exhibition, such as FullFace (facial recognition), DragonForce (tactical planning) and Secure Mobile Office — an application developed in Brazil for shared registry of investigations.

Through the Mobile Intelligence concept, it is possible to deploy, in any place in the world, multimedia information such as images, videos, maps and to access Big Data analysis, databases and registries.

"With the powerful integration of traditional voice solutions and public safety LTE environment and its multiple capacities, it is possible to send command center information to the hands of officers in action and at the same time, are the eyes of the commanders on site, "said Elton Borgonovo, general manager of Motorola Solutions Brazil.” The new technologies introduced today will help security forces save lives and improve assistance service even in the most extreme environments, through Mobile Intelligence."

By using a tactical solution, which can be carried in a backpack, an officer can instantly create a collaborative network at the scene to access information in places where communication is impossible.  In this way, transmission and reception of high-speed data as well as integration between different devices and agencies can be enabled. It can also be installed on vehicles or used fixed in a camp.

Another innovation is the Secure Mobile Office (SMO) app, developed in conjunction with the Universidade Federal de Campina Grande (PB). This tool can be installed in the LEX10 or any other smartphoneand allow multimedia collaboration, map notes, text, video and voice messaging and access to remote databases (such as vehicle and people registry) with advanced encryption. Developed for criminal investigations, Secure Mobile Office is already being tested in Brazil.
