Trends in Private Security Solutions: The Bet of Motorola Solutions and Avigilon at the Security Exhibition

  • WAVE, indoor and outdoor localization, telemetry, and remote control of operations are some of the applications that enrich the Motorola Solutions radio portfolio to be showcased at the exhibition
  • Avigilon will be showcasing its innovative portfolio, which includes artificial intelligence-based analytics, Appearance Search technology, Unusual Motion Detection technology as well as the latest access control solutions

Bogotá, Colombia - August 22, 2018 Motorola Solutions (NYSE:MSI) will introduce the most comprehensive portfolio of solutions and services related to the private security industry at the International Security Exhibition — E+S+S (Efficiency + Security + Safety) — to be held in Corferias from August 22 to 24, 2018.

Security challenges posed to persons, properties and assets are getting bigger every day and require modern solutions to help agencies and people in charge of private security comply with their mission of ensuring protection. With that in mind, Motorola Solutions will demonstrate how the radio, the quintessential communication tool for security personnel, has evolved and is part of a solution and application ecosystem that expands companies’ management, productivity and security indicators.

The company will highlight its portfolio of devices to meet the communication needs of all types of businesses, from those that allow voice-only communication, to those that include Wi-Fi and data management. MOTOTRBO™ radios stand out, as they enable modular expansion and customization, being much more than a communication tool. MOTOTRBO radios come with long-lasting batteries, long-range voice capabilities, expansive coverage, reliable audio with clear transmission and control of environmental sounds. Other features include tracking and localization in different environments.

The power of this communication tool is evidenced by a large ecosystem of applications, including WAVE™, Motorola Solutions' broadband push-to-talk (PTT) solution that enables smartphone users to communicate securely with radios used by security personnel at the touch of a button. Also, the developers of the SmartPTT and TRBOnet applications will present applications specially designed for this market, including Indoor geopositioning, round control, telemetry, man down and remote control of the operation.

“The increasing sophistication of crime requires the private security market to continue to evolve and to rely on technology as a key means to address its challenges. Knowing this, at Motorola Solutions we are constantly seeking to evolve and design tailored solutions that will allow private security managers to be always one step ahead and to have more accurate control of the operation," said Hernando Alfonso, channel manager, Motorola Solutions for Latin America North (NOLA).

At its booth, Motorola Solutions will also be showcasing the products of Avigilon — a Canadian company acquired by Motorola Solutions earlier this year — that specializes in the design, development and manufacturing of advanced video security and surveillance solutions, including self-learning, pattern-based analytics, network video management software and hardware, video surveillance cameras — in a wide range of resolutions —, and fully integrated access control solutions.

Avigilon will preview the latest enhancement to Avigilon Appearance Search™ technology, its AI search engine that helps to dramatically improve incident response times by enabling operators to quickly search through hours of footage to locate a person or vehicle of interest across an entire site. Avigilon will also feature some of its advanced camera lines including the H4 Thermal camera that helps users see beyond the visible spectrum, the H4 Infrared Pan-Tilt-Zoom (IR PTZ)  camera that can see up to 250 meters (820 feet) in complete darkness, as well as the industry’s first 7K (30 MP) HD Pro camera that provides wide area coverage while still delivering exceptional image detail to zoom in.

"We believe that AI has the ability to solve some of the most critical challenges in the security industry today. We are very pleased to showcase our video surveillance solutions as well as some of our most advanced AI –based analytics, such as Avigilon Appearance Search technology,” said Pedro Duarte, vice president for Latin America at Avigilon.
